WATS – the new WSE trading system launches on October 5th

On October 5, 2026, the Warsaw Stock Exchange will launch a new trading system – WATS (Warsaw Automated Trading System). It will replace the current UTP system, offering higher throughput and more efficient, secure, and flexible market operations.

Trigon is intensively preparing for the WATS implementation. For most investors, this change will be unnoticeable and technologically neutral.

However, it is worth noting the changes regarding market orders (PKC and PCR). In the new system, if these orders are not executed immediately, they will no longer remain in the order book. Additionally, they will require special markings.

According to the WSE, the new rules are intended to help reduce the number of market balancing sessions.
